Ukrainian banks made a profit for the first time this year
The largest profit was received by Privatbank.
This is reported by the publication "Minfin" with reference to the Opendata bot.
Aggregate profit of banks in May amounted to UAH 6.1 bn.
Privatbank earned the main share of profit (78% or UAH 4.8 billion) among all Ukrainian banks. Ukrgasbank also made a small plus — UAH 0.4 billion. Other state banks are still at a loss.
Banks with foreign capital earned UAH 1.96 billion in May.
Among all banks with foreign capital in 5 months of 2022, Procredit (UAH 0.7 billion) and OTP Bank (UAH 0.6 billion) suffered the most losses.
It should be noted that the balance sheet of Ukrainian banks with private capital remained positive throughout the months of the war, unlike other banks.
