Europe wants to take an active stance on ending the war in Ukraine.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk believes that European countries should create their own plan to settle the Russian-Ukrainian war and European security. He wrote about this on the social network X.

At the same time, he emphasised that if Europe does not do it, others will do it for it. This means that the future of European countries will be in the hands of others - the hands of global players. Tusk added that the decisions of global players will not necessarily be in Europe's interests.

This plan must be prepared now. There is no time to lose," he said.

He did not say who he considered a global player, but his statement came against the backdrop of increased co-operation between the US and Russian sides to resolve the war in Ukraine.

A number of European politicians reacted negatively to the contact between Trump and Putin and suggested that US President Donald Trump would exclude them from the talks on Ukraine but make them pay for Ukraine's reconstruction and send peacekeepers.
