The EU, after weeks of wrangling, has agreed on a €1bn scheme to jointly purchase ammunition and missiles for Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the EU Council.

The money will be allocated from the European Peace Facility for the joint purchase of 155 mm artillery shells and, if necessary, missiles for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The details of the agreement, which the EU representatives managed to reach, are not yet publicly known.

In addition, according to Shmygal, EU member states will already send us ammunition worth 1bn euros from their warehouses
