Work continues on the creation of a special compensation commission.
To create and implement a state-level compensation mechanism for victims of Russian aggression in Ukraine, the head of state formed a special working group chaired by the head of the OP Yermak. He will also become the person who will manage the mechanisms for collecting and paying compensation. This was reported by the press service of the President's Office.
It is reported that in order to create and implement a compensation mechanism at the level of the Office of the President, a special working group has been formed, which includes representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers and leading Ukrainian and foreign international lawyers.
At the first meeting of the group, its participants discussed the course of the negotiation process on the forced seizure of assets of the Russian Federation in favor of Ukraine and coordinated steps in this direction.
The report clarifies that the commission is considering options for collecting Russian foreign assets in favor of Ukraine.
It should be noted, according to the data of the Kiev School of Economics (KSE), during the war in Ukraine, the infrastructure of our state suffered losses in the amount of UAH 3 trillion or $103.9 billion. In addition to direct losses, indirect losses are also taken into account when calculating damage, such as: decline in GDP, cessation of investment, outflow of labor force, additional spending on defense and social support.
