- Shufrych reported on suspicion of state treason, faces up to 15 years in prison

Based on the collected materials, MP Nestor Shufrych was informed of suspicion of treason. Searches of the suspect and his relatives continue.
The SBU together with the State Bureau of Investigation and the Prosecutor-General's Office have collected evidence regarding the anti-Ukrainian activities of the incumbent MP. Shufrych is incriminated under Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - treason.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.
As evidenced by the investigation materials, Shufrych closely cooperated and fulfilled the tasks of the former secretary of the National Security and Defence Council Volodymyr Sivkovych, an agent of the FSB, whose task is to coordinate Russian agents in Ukraine," the statement said.
As is known, Sivkovych fled to Russia in 2014, where he created a "mole farm" for subversive activities against Ukraine. He also supervised the former head of the SBU Department in Crimea, Oleh Kulinich, who is also suspected of state treason.
In turn, Shufrych was engaged in subversive activities in the information sphere, trying to develop pro-Russian sentiments among Ukrainians.
He systematically spread the Kremlin's narratives that the Ukrainian state is allegedly an artificial formation, that Ukraine and Russia have a single history and that Ukrainians and Russians are allegedly 'one people'," the SBU said.
It is noted that at the moment there are 45 searches at the places of residence of Shufrych and his close entourage. Pre-trial investigation continues.
The suspect faces a sentence of 15 years in prison.
