Russian troops have killed the last resident of Stepok village in Sumy Region. the 60-year-old man refused to leave his native village until the last and lived there alone. His body was found on 24 January, in the room where he was sleeping. About it writes Suspilne.
Dead man was found by friends of his son, who went to check on the man. The son of the murdered told journalists about the incident.
On Wednesday 24 January, my friends went to see my father. They saw that there was a direct hit. I was shocked myself. He did not want to leave, there was no light there, they hit him every day, we bought him a generator and a battery and he lived there. He had a mare, a dog, chickens. A shell hit him right in his room, the kitchen and the barn were hit. Now I am waiting for my mother and sister to bury my father," he said.

According to the Krasnopilskyy village council, the man was killed last weekend.
The Security Service of Ukraine is conducting a pre-trial investigation into the violation of laws and customs of war, coupled with intentional murder (part 2 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The village of Stepok is located near the border with the Russian Federation near the Pokrovka-Kolotylovka humanitarian crossing. According to the son of the deceased, his father was the last resident of the village, all others evacuated.
