Russian Defence Ministry's special communications server attacked by GUR hackers


As a result of the cyberattack, the exchange of information between Russian Defence Ministry units has been halted.
As a result of a cyberattack on 30 January, the server of the Russian Defence Ministry's special communications service went down. This was reported by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry.
The operation in the enemy's cyberspace was carried out by specialists of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry.
As a result of the cyber attack, the exchange of information between the units of the Russian Defence Ministry, which used the server located in Moscow, was stopped," the intelligence service said.
It is reported that the software on the server was approved by the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation as such, which complies with the state standards of information protection.
The corresponding software was installed at various state strategic facilities of the Russian Federation, including military facilities.
