The West needs to increase air defence supplies to Ukraine.

This was reported by the BBC, citing analysts of the London-based think tank on defence and security

The report, prepared by the London-based think tank the Royal United Services Institute (Rusi), warns that unless Western countries continue and increase air defence supplies to Ukraine, Russia is likely to use the same bombing techniques it used in Syria to devastating effect

Russia has appointed General Sergey Surovikin as commander of its forces in Ukraine, who has led intensive bombing campaigns against cities such as Aleppo.

Experts believe that only because Russia failed to destroy Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile systems, its air force did not repeat its strategy in Syria, which was to turn much of the cities into ruins. So replenishing Ukraine's defence assets is an urgent matter.

Analysts also say Ukraine is short of aircraft, but the West fears that sending modern combat aircraft could lead to an escalation in relations between Moscow and the West.
