Local law enforcers in Poland have unmasked a group of Ukrainian refugees recruited by Russian special services.

A network of Russians was uncovered in Poland. Their informants were Ukrainian refugees. This is the story of The Washington Post.

According to the newspaper, the recruited Ukrainian citizens were tasked with monitoring the movement of military equipment on Polish territory and preparing sabotage on the way to its movement.

In particular, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces instructed the recruits to conduct reconnaissance of Polish seaports, install video cameras along railways and plant tracking devices in military cargo.

The publication points out that a number of recruited citizens were tasked with derailing trains.

It is stated that the agent network consisted of 12 Ukrainian refugees. One Russian and three citizens of Belarus also took part in the criminal conspiracy.

According to the Polish Internal Security Service (ABW), they were preparing arson and murder.

Moscow recruited refugees using, among other things, Russian-language Telegram channels. Ads for potential saboteurs were placed among job offers and housing rentals. Initially, the job offered was to post anti-NATO or anti-American leaflets. Then the tasks became more complicated and the payment for it increased. Often the money was transferred in cryptocurrency," the publication reported.

WP writes that the criminal group came to the criminal group by accident. It was helped by a random passerby, who drew attention to the video camera by the road. Further, having watched the video, law enforcers uncovered the entire criminal network.
