The letters are another attempt to discredit Ukrainian diplomacy.

This was reported by Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleh Mykolenko on his Facebook page.

German citizens have started receiving letters, allegedly from the Ukrainian consulate-general in Düsseldorf, with an offer to join the foreign legion in Ukraine for a monetary reward. Mykolenko said:

The letters in question are fake. No such messages were sent by the Ukrainian consular office. The consuls have already contacted the German police to investigate.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's spokesman also noted that the sending of these fake letters was considered by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry as part of a disinformation campaign of the enemy, which had the purpose of discrediting the Ukrainian diplomacy and undermining the support of Ukraine by Germany and its citizens.

It is worth recalling that last week Ukrainian embassies in Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, Croatia, Italy, the consulates general in Naples and Krakow, as well as the consulate in Brno received blood-stained packages. The packages contained animal eyes, and the packages themselves were soaked in liquid of a characteristic colour and had a corresponding smell.
