German regions ask government to build new bomb shelters

Representatives of the states are demanding 10 billion euros to repair or build bomb shelters, but the Bundestag has yet to do so.
A Bundestag member has also criticised the government. Andre Bergegger believes that Germany is economising on security and civil protection.
An inventory of existing bomb shelters is due to be completed by spring 2023. Currently, there are only 600 prepared shelters in the country that can accommodate about 500,000 people.
