Nayev urged residents of northern border areas to evacuate

Every civilian should clearly realise that staying near the border with Russia is dangerous.
Russian troops have been launching daily strikes on territories in northern Ukraine. Residents of the border areas of Sumy and Chernihiv regions are urged to evacuate. This was reported by the commander of the united forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Lieutenant-General Sergey Nayev.
He noted that the war with Russia has covered not only the east and south of Ukraine. The northern operational zone is also not an exception.
In the border areas of Sumy and Chernihiv regions (as well as throughout the country) there is a legal regime of martial law. On a daily basis, the enemy inflicts fire strikes on those territories.
The enemy uses various types of weapons, including aviation, artillery, mortars and grenade launchers, attracts sabotage groups. The border in the north of our country is a line of contact with the enemy with all the inherent hostilities," Naev said.
He stressed that these hostilities can lead to the death of both civilian and military people, their capture and the destruction of entire border villages and towns. Every civilian should clearly realise that staying near the border with Russia is dangerous.
It is noted that on a daily basis military administrations are dealing with the issue of evacuation of residents from these areas in the same way as from frontline settlements in the East and South of Ukraine.
The war continues, and in order for the Ukrainian military to be able to conduct a full-fledged exchange of fire and destroy the enemy without thinking that they might harm our citizens, every conscious Ukrainian should listen to the advice of the military administrations," Naev said.
