Washington sees the progress of the Ukrainian counter-offensive, so the U.S. promises Ukraine support in the long term.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said this in Kiev, European Pravda has reported.

Blinken said that he was impressed by the bravery and resilience of Ukrainians during the full-scale war.

I am here first and foremost to demonstrate our strong support for Ukraine. We have seen good progress in the counter-offensive. We want to make sure that Ukraine has what it needs not only for a successful counteroffensive, but also in the long term, that it has good deterrence, strong defensive capabilities, so that aggression doesn't happen again," Anthony Blinken said.

According to him, the United States and its partners will work to "help Ukraine rebuild and become a strong economy and a strong democracy".

We shall remind you that the US Secretary of State arrived in Ukraine on 6 September. He started his visit by visiting the Berkovets cemetery and honouring the fallen defenders of Ukraine together with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.

Earlier, the mass media reported that Blinken would spend two days in Ukraine and would probably announce a new aid package for Ukraine.
