about author Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has announced the extension of the Canada-Ukraine Emergency Travel Authorisation (CUAET), a support programme for refugees from Ukraine. The programme has been extended for one year.
This was reported by Gromadske, citing the Canadian government.
The support programme envisages that:
- ukrainians and their family members will be able to apply abroad for a CUAET visa free of charge until July 15, 2023;
- those already in possession of a CUAET visa may travel to Canada until March 31, 2024, under special arrangements;
- cUAET holders already in Canada will be able to extend or change their temporary status free of charge until March 31, 2024.
It is noted that Ukrainians can receive one-time financial assistance while in CUAET. As well as access to temporary accommodation for up to two weeks if necessary.
Currently, 616,000 Ukrainians have received visas under the CUAET programme.
