The occupiers are closing in on control of the T0504 highway, which runs through Kostyantynivka, Chasov Yar and Bakhmut.

According to geolocation footage published on 27 April, the Russian occupiers have advanced towards the Bakhmut industrial college on the specified route. This was reported by UNIAN citing the Institute for the Study of War.

Other geolocation footage shows the Ukrainian Armed Forces probably carrying out a controlled retreat from one building along the T0504 highway.

At the same time, the Bild newspaper reports that the Ukrainian armed forces are planning to use small operational special units in kayaks to cross the river, korrespondent.net reports. The Ukrainian military is being trained for this, including by German instructors. Soldiers are being trained to operate kayaks in combat conditions.

Journalists report that Ukrainian fighters have already completed the main part of the training. They are training at a training camp in eastern Ukraine, carrying kayaks in full combat gear and crossing rivers in them with many weapons. This allows them to prepare to use the kayaks in combat conditions.

According to journalists, the Ukrainian military is using homemade, high-tech kayaks made to military standards.
