Two employees of the Sambir military enlistment centre are suspected of torture


The head of one of the departments of the Sambir district TCC and SP, as well as the military driver of this department, were informed of suspicion of torture and illegal deprivation of liberty.
This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigation.
The servicemen are charged with part 2 of Article 146, part 2 of Article 127 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unlawful deprivation of liberty and torture committed by a group of persons in prior agreement). 2 Art. 127 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal deprivation of liberty and torture committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons). They face up to 10 years' imprisonment. A petition has also been filed for the suspects to be remanded in custody without the possibility of bail.
The investigation found that the suspects illegally detained and tortured two men in the premises of the military enlistment office.
The residents of Kharkiv and Kryvyi Rih tried to illegally cross the border and get to Poland. However, border guards detained them, drew up a report on violation of the rules of crossing the state border and took them to the military enlistment centre for military registration, the DBR reported.
At the military enlistment office, the men were forced to undergo a military medical commission for further mobilisation, to which they did not agree. The victims were forcibly held in the premises of the military enlistment office for 10 days one and the other - 7.
We shall remind you that on 19 September a video, showing a serviceman beating a civilian man, was circulated online. In two other videos, the victim stated that he was illegally held for several days. After that, the Lviv regional TCC started a service inspection and suspended two servicemen from duty. In turn, the SBI opened criminal proceedings.
