British intelligence explains why Putin cancelled big press conference

For the first time in a decade, Putin declined a final press conference.
This is according to a British Ministry of Defence review of the war.
British intelligence believes that Putin refused to hold a major final press conference because people may have developed resentment of the war that Putin has been plotting. And people may have started asking uncomfortable questions.
While the questions for the press conference are almost certainly checked in advance, the cancellation of the event seems to be linked to growing concerns about the growing anti-war sentiment in Russia. The Kremlin is probably very wary that any event involving Putin could be accompanied by unauthorised discussions about a "special military operation".
It is worth recalling that on December 12, Putin's press secretary Peskov officially confirmed that there will be no final conference in the Kremlin this year.
