Most Ukrainians opt for cash compensation instead of "pakunka malyuka"

New parents in Ukraine are entitled to state aid - "pakunok malenka". But more and more young parents are giving it up in favour of monetary compensation.
This was reported by the Ministry of Social Policy.
It is noted that during 2022, 74% of families chose the money - 154,000 families.
This year, the number of such families has increased to 82% - 33.5 thousand families.
This may be due to a greater need of families for money, or due to the fact that parents prepare in advance for the birth of a child and already have all the necessary things," explains the Ministry.
At present, the amount of cash compensation for the "pakunok malyuka" amounts to 41,280 hryvnia. The lump sum is 10,320 hryvnia, followed by a monthly payment of 860 hryvnia for 36 months.
