- The UN reacted to the shelling of Zaporizhzhya

The UN humanitarian coordinator in Ukraine, Denise Brown, has reacted to the Russian vandalisation of a hotel in Zaporizhzhya.
Denise Brown's statement has been published on the UN website.
Statement by the UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine Denise Brown regarding the strike on a hotel in Zaporizhzhya:
I am shocked by the news that a hotel that has been frequently used by UN staff and our NGO colleagues to support war victims has just been hit by a Russian strike in Zaporizhzhya.
This is absolutely unacceptable.
I have stayed at this hotel every time I visit Zaporozhye. My team uses it as a base during repeated trips to the city. It was the UN base of operations for the evacuation of civilians from the Azovstal plant in Mariupol last May.
The number of indiscriminate strikes that have damaged civilian infrastructure and caused civilian deaths and injuries has reached unbelievable levels. They are a violation of international humanitarian law.
In the name of humanity, I call on the Russian Federation to honour its obligations under international humanitarian law and immediately cease its indiscriminate strikes against Ukraine.
