In the past two weeks, the Russian Federation has moved many of its troops into Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions.

Vadym Skibitskyy, a representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, told Corriere della Sera:

They are likely to launch a new offensive in Zaporizhzhya Region. And in the direction of Kharkiv they will try to stop our counteroffensive. They will try to hold positions in Kherson, where they are building up defences, as well as on the Crimean Peninsula, which is strategically special for them.

Ukrainian intelligence has no evidence so far that they are setting up an assault force in Belarus or moving troops. Skibitsky suggests that Russia may be using the territory of the republic as a base to "reorganise troops".

Skibitsky stressed:

But at the moment Russia does not have enough troops for a new offensive from the north. The intensity of shelling in these directions could increase in spring or summer - it is not easy for Russia to move its troops now because of conditions on the ground.
