Ukrainian defence forces advance near Bakhmut: ISW

Ukrainian troops conducted counter-offensive operations and advanced near Bakhmut in Donetsk region
This was reported by the US-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
The Ukrainian military continues counter-offensives on the northern and southern flanks of Bakhmut and is having successes, analysts say and report that Ukrainian successes near Bakhmut have been confirmed by both Ukrainian and Russian sources.
Russian forces on 28 July conducted offensive actions on the Svatovo-Kremenna line, near Bakhmut and near the border of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhya regions, and advanced in some areas. Ukrainian forces on 28 July continued counter-offensive actions on at least three sections of the front and reportedly advanced along the Svatovo-Kremenna line, near Bakhmut and along the border of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhya regions," ISW noted.

We would like to point out that a Russian "war correspondent" said that the Ukrainian armed forces had advanced near Kurdyumivka and Andriyivka.
Also, ISW quoted a Ukrainian source as saying that the AFU had advanced 10-12 kilometres from the main Russian defensive line in the Berdyansk direction.
Earlier, Socialportal reported that Colonel Mykola Urshalovich made a statement about the advance of the AFU in the south.
