Ukrainian Foreign Ministry says how many Ukrainians live in Poland who can be mobilised

As of today, about 300,000 Ukrainians of mobilisation age live in Poland. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga said this during a discussion at the 20th meeting of the Yalta European Strategy (YES).

He pointed out that Kiev and Warsaw are currently developing a project to train a military unit, which will be formed from Ukrainian volunteers, Ukrainian citizens who are abroad.

It seems to me that this project will be extremely important from the point of view of strengthening our defence capability. According to our estimates, in Poland today there are about 300 thousand citizens of mobilisation age. In general, there are about one million abroad," Sibiga assured.

The diplomat stressed that such a decision would speak of justice, because "the stay of a citizen abroad is in no way an advantage over those citizens of Ukraine who defend their homeland".

This duty applies to everyone, regardless of the place of stay," the minister said.

Sibiga also noted that he supports the idea of cancellation of payments for men of mobilisation age on the territory of European countries.
