Tripillya TPP completely destroyed by Russian missiles (video)

As a result of a massive missile attack on the night of Thursday, 11 April, Russian troops completely destroyed the Trypilska thermal power plant in Kiev Region. This was reported by the head of the supervisory board of PJSC Centrenergo, Andriy Gota, to Interfax-Ukraine.

As a result of missile hits there was a large-scale fire in the turbine shop. Now at the plant is continuing work to localise the fire.

It is reported that all employees of the plant, who were on shift during the shelling, are alive.

Earlier, on 22 March 2024, the occupants completely destroyed Zmievskaya TPP in Kharkiv region, and on 25 July 2022, Russian troops occupied Uglegorskaya TPP in Donetsk region. Now PJSC Centrenergo has lost 100 per cent of its generation.

The head of the city council of Ukrainka in Kiev Region urged residents to close windows in their homes and make water supplies due to harmful substances that were formed as a result of combustion in the air.

Earlier, Socportalagainst the backdrop of the biggest attack on energy infrastructure since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, asked the deputy chairman of the Atomtrade Union, Pavlo Prudnikov, who returned to this position after severe injury at the front, share forecasts for the Ukrainian nuclear industry in war conditions.

According to him, due to the explosion of the Kakhovka dam in the summer of 2023, the water level in the technical reservoirs of the Zaporizhia NPP fell.

So far the cooling rates have been maintained at the required level. But keep in mind that the station is not working, it is in a cold stop state. Because the Russians have not yet managed to connect it to their power grid, — says the trade union activist.

He notes that the future of Zaporizhia NPP is difficult to predict.

Today no one can say when the war will end, under any conditions. If, for example, there are offensives and they (the Russians - ed) are forced to retreat, who can say that they will not blow up certain objects according to the principle — don't let anyone get you. The perimeter of the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant was mined; the coast of the Kakhovka Reservoir was mined there even before it was blown up. Armored vehicles, military equipment, they are driven into production facilities with ammunition, — warns the deputy head of the Atomprofsoyuz.

However, he repeats that Russian attacks on energy infrastructure now look most threatening.

I'm afraid for the infrastructure. Through open switchgears, transmission lines. Do you see the trend? Not targeted strikes, but simply the complete destruction of any infrastructure. It is not necessary to bang around the reactor. It is enough to disrupt the infrastructure, and the station will not work. For example, damage to the same high-voltage lines or transformers affects the operation of our stations, — emphasizes Pavlo Prudnikov.
