The scale of destruction in Kiev is staggering. Unique buildings have been damaged

Russia's overnight attack on Kiev is shocking in its scale: about a hundred buildings in all districts of the city were damaged, institutions, bookstores, art spaces, the historic building "House with Insects", the EU representation in Ukraine, residential buildings and media editorial offices were hit.
On the night of 28 August, Kyiv was subjected to another massive attack by drones and missiles. The strikes hit not only residential areas, but also cultural, educational and business facilities. As a result, an institute, bookstores, art spaces, as well as a unique historical building were destroyed and damaged, TSN writes.
Serious damage was recorded in the buildings of the Kiev Institute of Automation on the street Nagornaya, where in recent years were located art workshops and a museum of modern art. The shock wave knocked out the windows, collapsed ceilings and walls, damaged interior decoration. Part of the premises became unusable.
On Antonovicha Street, the Readeat shop was damaged: windows and glass were broken, shelves and books were under shrapnel. The owners said that the damage was not critical, but the premises need to be restored. Another bookstore - "KnigoLand" near the metro station "Olimpiyskaya" - was also hit: the windows were damaged and some of the property was spoilt. Despite this, the outlet continues to operate.
Russia continues to attack our architectural monuments, one of them is the House with Insects at 93 Vladimirskaya Street. The building is unique, known for its decorative reliefs in the form of beetles, butterflies and dragonflies. The windows were broken out, parts of the roof and floors were destroyed, and the protective panels installed to preserve the facade collapsed. According to site guard Dmitry Perov, the historic house is "disfigured" and needs urgent restoration.
There is also serious damage to the New England residential complex , with coffee shops and commercial premises destroyed. The shock wave affected warehouses and sorting office of the "New Post", offices of a number of media outlets, among them - "Ukrayinska Pravda " and "Radio Liberty".
Thus, the blow to the capital came both to residential buildings and cultural and historical spaces. Roads were also affected. The destruction affected infrastructure - shops, co-working centres and workshops, as well as unique architectural heritage.
Rescuers continue to remove the rubble, under which there may be people. The barbaric attack was condemned in the EU and the US.
