Court arrests Poltava blogger for insulting the military (video)


A court in Poltava has arrested without bail local blogger and fitness trainer Roman Zavoloka, who insulted and humiliated the military.
This was reported by Suspilne Poltava on Friday, 1 September.
Being aggressive towards servicemen carrying out activities to ensure national security and defence, repulse and deter aggression of the Russian Federation, Zavoloka did not react to the serviceman's remark that it is forbidden to carry out video recording of servicemen during martial law, continued to behave aggressively, started spitting at the serviceman and shouting that the Ukrainian government is to blame for the outbreak of war, - said during the court hearing the prosecutor.
Under the procedural guidance of the Poltava district Prosecutor's office fitness trainer from Poltava reported suspicion of intentional infliction of bodily injury to an employee of a law enforcement agency in connection with the performance by this employee of official duties and insulting the honour and dignity of a serviceman, as well as the production and distribution of materials containing insult to honour and dignity (part 2 of article 345, part 1, 2 of article 435-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
In addition, he was elected a measure of restraint - detention without the right to bail. The sanction of the article implies restriction of freedom for up to five years or imprisonment for the same period.
Roman Zavoloka did not admit his guilt in court.
