In the case of Taurus missile deliveries, Germany would have had to be directly involved in the launches.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has said that he does not transfer long-range Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine because they can hit targets in Moscow. The politician said this on Thursday, 29 February, during a meeting with residents of Dresden.

A missile which, if used incorrectly, can hit a specific target somewhere in Moscow," the chancellor said.

He emphasised that in the case of Taurus deliveries, Germany would have to be directly involved in the launch of the missiles, and he believes this is impossible

Scholz emphasised that Germany transfers a lot of military aid to Ukraine, but each delivery should be carefully considered.

He also said that other countries, France and the UK know exactly where and how their SCALP-EG and Storm Shadow weapons are used.
