The Kremlin's statements are aimed at demonstrating Moscow's "unwavering position" on the occupied peninsula.

Russian presidential aide for foreign policy issues Yuriy Ushakov has said that Crimea temporarily occupied by Russians will never return under Ukrainian control. He said this when answering questions from Russian propagandists.

According to him, it is impossible for Ukraine to return Crimea and achieve NATO membership:

"Zelensky 'ironcladly', by 'a million per cent' will not be able to return Crimea," Ushakov stressed.

Earlier, a similar position was taken by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who publicly rejected the possibility of restoring the 2022 borders, accusing Ukraine of disrupting all agreements, which allegedly caused the war.
