It is believed that Paul Ury was killed by torture.

The Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets said that the Russian Federation handed Ukraine the body of the British volunteer Paul Ury, who had previously died in the "DPR." The volunteer was detained on April 25 at a checkpoint in the Zaporizhzhia region and held captive. Volunteers were sent to the war zone on a humanitarian mission. In July, the "DPR" reported that Paul Ury had died from heart problems. Uri suffered from type 1 diabetes and needed insulin constantly.

There are no body parts, numerous cuts and signs of torture - this is how Lubinets described Uri's body.

As an ombudsman, I can now responsibly say that such a death was violent. A person simply cannot stand such torture. I saw a photo of the body of the deceased and there is no doubt. The murder of volunteer Paul Ury is a war crime that will be further evidence during the trial of the Russian political and military leadership. Evidence in the tribunal for Putin,” wrote Lubinets.
