Germany has counted the number of Ukrainian refugees

Europe is expecting a new influx of Ukrainian refugees.

Bavaria alone has taken in more Ukrainian refugees than all of France, according to the German government. They also note that once in the European Union, refugees are distributed very unevenly across countries, with most staying in Poland, Germany and the Czech Republic. Thus, some German regions - such as Bavaria or North Rhine-Westphalia, for example - took in more refugees than large European countries like Britain or France

According to migration expert Gerald Knaus in an interview with BILD, this is also because it is much harder for Ukrainians to establish themselves in France. France pays refugees less money [compared to Germany], and it is very difficult to rent a flat and pay a large deposit [for rent]

According to Knaus, the countries to which the main flow of refugees is going have almost reached the limit of accommodation capacity, but if France, Italy or Spain were to take in as many Ukrainians as the Czech Republic, "the situation would be completely different"

In recent weeks, Putin has stepped up attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure - millions of Ukrainians are without electricity and heating - so more refugees are expected in EU countries when winter arrives.
