Occupiers killed two Ukrainian prisoners of war - prosecutor's office launches investigation


A video of the killing of unarmed servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the occupants has appeared online. The prosecutor's office has launched an investigation.
This was reported by the press service of the Office of the Prosecutor-General of Ukraine.
on 9 February, a video appeared online showing representatives of the Russian Armed Forces shooting Ukrainian servicemen. This happened during the seizure of positions near the village of Kleshcheyevka in Bakhmut district of Donetsk region.
The video from the enemy drone recorded that, probably, the commander of one of the units of the army of the aggressor state during the assault on the trenches of the AFU gives the order not to take the enemy prisoner, - stated in the message.
During the offensive, the occupants killed two prisoners. The first military man came out with his hands raised without weapons - he was shot. After that, the invaders threw a grenade into the dugout, killing the second Ukrainian.
Themurder of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and qualifies as a grave international crime, - noted in the Office of the Prosecutor General.
Law enforcers opened criminal proceedings for violation of the laws and customs of war combined with premeditated murder (part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
