It will take up to several years to restore houses - expert

New buildings in Ukraine will be built with comfortable bomb shelters and parking lots, where you can spend several days, urbanist Igor Raikov said on TSN .

According to him, it is realistic to restore the infrastructure in the country in 6-12 months. And the restoration of residential buildings will take more - this is 12-14 months. The restoration of large houses will take 36 months.

Raikov is convinced that Ukrainian capacities are enough for restoration. But the help of other countries will not be superfluous.

He claims that he and his colleagues are the only ones who unite around a volunteer initiative to help restore housing to those who lost it. 500 people and organizations have agreed and are ready to start working as soon as peace comes.

For example, Ukraine's losses due to Russia's invasion amounted to $565 billion as of March 15, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said. Since then, Ukraine has suffered additional losses that are not included in the estimate.

The KSE Institute estimates the losses of the Ukrainian transport infrastructure alone at $62.6 billion.
