Death toll rises in Ternopil after Russian Federation strike on 19 November

As of 03:00 on 22 November, the number of dead in Ternopil has increased to 32 people. This was reported by the head of the Ternopil Region police, Serhiy Zyubanenko.

Rescuers, who continue round-the-clock emergency search operations, found the body of another woman under the rubble. Among the dead are six children, including one Polish citizen. The number of victims remains unchanged - 94 injured, among them 18 children.

The fate of another seven people who may have been in the epicentre of the strike at the time of the shelling remains unknown.

The Russian attack took place on the morning of 19 November around 7:00. Strike drones and missiles hit two multi-storey residential buildings - on Stusa Street and 15 April Street. Fires broke out in the buildings and large-scale destruction occurred.

Operational headquarters have been deployed at the two most affected locations. People who are looking for missing relatives or who have suffered themselves can apply here. The headquarters are receiving information about people whose contact has been lost.

In addition to residential houses, industrial and critical infrastructure facilities were damaged. Specialists are specifying the scale of destruction.

After the impact in the air of the city recorded a six-fold excess of chlorine, so residents were urged to stay indoors and tightly close the windows.

Emergency rescue work continues without stopping.
