Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, 75 Ukrainian children have suffered torture, most of them in the village of Yagodnoye in Chernihiv region.
The head of the Department for the Protection of Children'sInterests and Countering Violence of the Office of the Prosecutor-General of Ukraine, Yuliya Usenko, said this in an interview with theInterfax-Ukraine news agency.
According to her, the aggressor commits international offences of different categories against children.
To date, pre-trial investigation bodies and prosecutors have documented such crimes in more than 3,200 criminal proceedings. Of them - murder, mutilation, kidnapping of children, forced displacement, deportation, sexual violence against children, attacks on institutions and facilities for children," she said.
Usenko noted that abduction is often accompanied by torture and illegal detention. As a result of torture, 75 Ukrainian children suffered.
Of them 69 - in Yagodnoye in Chernihiv region. The conditions in which the children were kept together with adults in the basement of the school, their treatment - are equal to torture, - the head of the department added.
The prosecutor's office also recorded isolated cases when children were deprived of liberty and tortured together with adults. They were recorded in Kherson and Kharkiv regions.
Usenko specified that the occupants suspected the affected children for allegedly transferring information about the movement of Russian equipment and corrective information for the AFU.
